Copyright & EULA

All synthesiser presets, sound samples, foley recordings, field recordings and related sound-design materials provided under the Arrestiv Sound Co. brand are created, produced or curated by Arrestiv Sound Co.

Certain products may incorporate source audio initially created using artificial intelligence-assisted tools. Any such source audio is subjected to substantial human creative input, including editing, processing, resampling, resynthesis, layering, manipulation and original sound design. Arrestiv Sound Co. does not distribute unaltered AI-generated outputs. The finished sounds are materially transformed and released as distinct Arrestiv sound-design works.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, all copyright and other intellectual property rights in the finished sound recordings, presets, arrangements, compilations, product artwork, metadata and related materials are owned or controlled by Arrestiv Sound Co.

These materials are made available under licence for use, not ownership, in accordance with the Arrestiv Sound Co. End User Licence Agreement (EULA).

End User License Agreement (EULA)

Effective date: 22 July 2026

This End User Licence Agreement (“Agreement”) is entered into between you, the person or organisation downloading or using the Sound Libraries (“Licensee”), and Matt Rippon, trading as Arrestiv Sound Co. (“Licensor”).

This Agreement applies to all sound libraries, sound samples, synthesiser presets, foley recordings, field recordings and related audio materials made available by Arrestiv Sound Co. (collectively, the “Sound Libraries”).

The individual audio files, recordings and presets contained within the Sound Libraries are referred to in this Agreement as the “Sounds”.

By downloading, accessing or using any Sound Library, the Licensee agrees to the terms of this Agreement.

1. Grant of License

The Licensor grants the Licensee a worldwide, non-exclusive, perpetual, royalty-free and non-transferable licence to use the Sounds, subject to the terms of this Agreement.

The Sounds are currently provided free of charge. Any donation made to Arrestiv Sound Co. is voluntary and does not purchase ownership of the Sounds or alter the terms of this licence.

No copyright or other ownership rights are transferred to the Licensee.

2. Rights Granted

The Licensee may:

a. Download, install and use the Sound Libraries on personal or professional workstations controlled by the Licensee.

b. Create reasonable backup copies for personal or internal business use.

c. Edit, process, manipulate, resample, layer, combine or otherwise modify the Sounds.

d. Incorporate the Sounds into original creative projects, including:

  • films and video productions;
  • music and audio productions;
  • games and interactive media;
  • television and radio productions;
  • online and commercial content;
  • podcasts and audio programmes;
  • theatrical productions;
  • multimedia presentations; and
  • other projects containing substantial additional creative material.

Such a project is referred to in this Agreement as an “End Product”.

e. Reproduce, distribute, broadcast, publicly perform, sell or otherwise commercially exploit an End Product in which the Sounds have been incorporated in accordance with this Agreement.

f. Deliver a completed End Product to a client, publisher, broadcaster, distributor, platform or other third party, provided the Sounds are not supplied as separate, extractable or reusable audio files.

No attribution is required, although credit to Arrestiv Sound Co. is welcomed.

3. Restrictions

The Licensee may not:

a. Redistribute, resell, share, upload, sublicense or otherwise make the Sounds available as standalone files, whether modified or unmodified and whether free of charge or for payment.

b. use the Sounds to create, contribute to or form part of a competing:

  • sound library;
  • sample pack;
  • preset collection;
  • foley collection;
  • sound-effect collection;
  • production library; or
  • downloadable audio collection.

c. Make the Sounds available through a website, application, platform, database, file-sharing service or other system from which another person can download, extract, isolate or reuse them.

d. Use the Sounds in a product whose primary purpose or value is to give the end user access to reusable versions of the Sounds. This includes soundboard applications, audio asset packs, production templates and similar products.

e. Release an audio-only product consisting primarily of the Sounds unless the Sounds have been materially combined with original composition, performance, narration, production or sound design so that the release constitutes a genuinely new creative work and is not a substitute for the original Sound Library.

f. Claim ownership or authorship of the original Sounds, whether modified or unmodified.

The Licensee may claim ownership of the Licensee’s own original contributions and completed End Products, but not ownership of the underlying Arrestiv Sounds incorporated into them.

4. Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning Restrictions

The Licensee may not use the Sounds, whether modified or unmodified, for the purpose of:

a. training, fine-tuning, testing, validating, developing or improving an artificial intelligence, machine learning or neural-network model;

b. creating or contributing to an AI or machine-learning training dataset;

c. enabling an AI system to reproduce, imitate, regenerate or produce variations of the Sounds; or

d. creating embeddings, model weights, datasets or other machine-readable representations intended for AI or machine-learning development.

This restriction does not prohibit the ordinary use of AI-assisted audio-editing, restoration, mixing, mastering or noise-reduction software, provided that the Sounds are not used as training data and are not retained or incorporated into a model or training dataset.

5. AI-Assisted Source Material

Certain Sounds may incorporate source audio initially generated or created with the assistance of artificial intelligence tools.

Any such source material is subjected to substantial human creative and technical input by Arrestiv Sound Co. This may include editing, processing, resampling, resynthesis, layering, sequencing, spectral manipulation, reconstruction and original sound design.

Arrestiv Sound Co. does not knowingly distribute raw or unaltered AI-generated audio as a finished Arrestiv Sound.

AI-assisted source material is materially transformed before release and is incorporated into a distinct finished sound recording or sound-design work.

The use of AI-assisted source material does not change the Licensee’s rights or obligations under this Agreement.

6. Intellectual Property

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Licensor owns or controls the applicable intellectual property rights in:

  • the finished Arrestiv sound recordings;
  • original recordings made by or for Arrestiv Sound Co.;
  • original editing, processing, layering and sound design;
  • synthesiser presets and preset programming;
  • the selection and arrangement of the Sound Libraries;
  • product names, descriptions and metadata;
  • artwork, documentation and associated materials; and
  • the Arrestiv Sound Co. brand.

Where third-party tools, technology or source materials have been used, any underlying third-party rights remain the property of their respective owners.

The Licensee receives only the rights that the Licensor is legally entitled to grant under this Agreement.

Nothing in this Agreement transfers ownership of the Sound Libraries or Sounds to the Licensee.

7. Collaborators, Employees and Contractors

The Licensee may allow employees, contractors or collaborators to access the Sounds solely where access is reasonably necessary to create an End Product on behalf of the Licensee.

The Licensee remains responsible for their compliance with this Agreement.

Employees, contractors and collaborators may not retain, reuse, distribute or independently license the Sounds after their involvement in the End Product has ended.

8. Termination

This licence will continue perpetually unless terminated in accordance with this section.

The Licensor may terminate the licence if the Licensee commits a material breach of this Agreement.

Where the breach is capable of being corrected, the Licensor will normally give the Licensee written notice and fourteen days in which to correct it.

The licence may be terminated immediately where the Licensee deliberately:

  • redistributes or resells the Sounds;
  • makes the Sounds available for public download;
  • incorporates the Sounds into a competing sound library; or
  • uses the Sounds for AI or machine-learning training.

Upon termination, the Licensee must stop using the Sounds in new projects and delete all standalone copies within the Licensee’s possession or control.

End Products lawfully completed and distributed before termination may continue to be used and distributed, provided they were created in compliance with this Agreement.

Termination does not affect any rights or remedies that arose before termination.

9. Disclaimer

The Sound Libraries are provided on an “as available” basis.

The Licensor does not guarantee that the Sounds will be suitable for every particular project, compatible with every item of software or hardware, or free from minor technical imperfections.

The Licensee is responsible for testing the Sounds and determining whether they are appropriate for the Licensee’s intended use.

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or restricts any statutory right or legal remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded or restricted.

10. Liability

Nothing in this Agreement excludes or limits liability for:

  • death or personal injury caused by negligence;
  • fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation; or
  • any other liability that cannot legally be excluded or limited.

Where the Licensee is acting as a consumer, the Licensor will be responsible for loss or damage that is a reasonably foreseeable consequence of the Licensor’s breach of this Agreement or failure to exercise reasonable care and skill.

The Licensor will not be responsible for business losses suffered by a consumer.

Where the Licensee is using the Sounds for business or professional purposes, the Licensor will not be liable, to the extent permitted by law, for indirect or consequential losses or for loss of profit, revenue, business, contracts, opportunity, goodwill or data arising from the use of the Sounds.

11. Business Indemnity

Where the Licensee is acting for business or professional purposes, the Licensee agrees to indemnify the Licensor against reasonable third-party claims, losses and costs directly resulting from:

  • the Licensee’s unlawful use of the Sounds;
  • unauthorised redistribution or resale of the Sounds;
  • use of the Sounds for AI or machine-learning training; or
  • another material breach of this Agreement.

This section does not apply to Licensees acting solely as consumers.

12. Transfer and Assignment

The Licensee may not sell, assign, sublicense or transfer this licence or the standalone Sounds to another person.

The Licensee may transfer or deliver a completed End Product to a client, publisher, broadcaster, distributor or other third party as permitted by Section 2.

Receiving an End Product does not give that third party any right to extract, reuse, redistribute or separately license the Sounds.

13. Governing Law

This Agreement is governed by the laws of England and Wales.

The courts of England and Wales will have jurisdiction over disputes arising from this Agreement.

Where the Licensee is acting as a consumer, nothing in this section removes any mandatory legal protections available in the country in which the Licensee resides or prevents the Licensee from bringing proceedings in a court available to them under applicable consumer law.

14. General Terms

If any provision of this Agreement is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

A failure by the Licensor to enforce a provision of this Agreement does not constitute a waiver of that provision.

Any revised version of this Agreement will apply only to Sound Libraries downloaded after the effective date of the revised version, unless a change is required by law or expressly accepted by the Licensee.
